Natalya Tchaikovskaya’s album “Moi gorod” wins the All Colors of Jazz award by Radio JAZZ
On November 26, the ceremony of the 10th annual All Colors of Jazz music award by Radio JAZZ took place in Moscow. The winner in the Release of the Year category was composer Natalya Tchaikovskaya, who received the award from the hands of the singer, People’s Artist of Russia Larisa Dolina.
The award was given to Natalya Tchaikovskaya and Sergey Zhilin’s album “Moi gorod,” released in March of this year. The album includes jazz interpretations of famous compositions by Natalya Tchaikovskaya performed by pianist Sergey Zhilin and the Phonograph-Sympho-Jazz Orchestra.
The selection process for the winners took place in several stages. First, the editorial board of the radio station collected applications for the award, then radio listeners helped select the best performers in an open vote. The three finalists were chosen by the jury: Igor Butman, Larisa Dolina, Teona Kontridze, Aleksandr Panayotov, and other experts.
On November 26, in the Omega Rooftop Hall on the roof of the Tsvetnoy Department Store, the winners were announced in seven categories: Rising Star, Festival of the Year, Venue of the Year, Release of the Year, Musician of the Year, Event of the Year, and For Contribution to the Development of Jazz Culture in Russia.
This year, the All Colors of Jazz award celebrated its tenth anniversary – the ceremony was first held in 2014, turning into a big jazz festival. Since the inception of the project, more than 90 performers and residents of major music festivals have performed at the award ceremonies.
