“Tsvetok rozy,” an album by Irina Kainova with pieces for harp

Since March 7, the album Tsvetok rozy of composer Irina Kainova, released by the music publishing company Ray Records, has been available on all digital platforms.
Irina Kainova’s creative journey began more than 30 years ago. She works in the genres of symphonic, chamber-instrumental, and vocal-choral music. She has musical performances, computer music, as well as numerous transcriptions and arrangements under her belt.
Today, Irina Kainova is a professor at the composition department of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, a member of the Union of Composers of Russia, a full member of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts, a member of the board of the Russian Harp Society, and a regular participant in the festivals Harp Art of Russia, Svetozvony, and Moscow Autumn.
The new release includes pieces for harp, which occupies a special place in the composer’s work.
“The sounds of the harp are a world of elevated feelings, joy or sadness on the one hand, and folk color and bell-like ringing on the other,” says Irina Kainova.
The album presents pieces in the form of variations on Cossack, Belarusian, and Bulgarian folk songs, as well as compositions dedicated to people who played an important role in the composer’s life and work. The recording of a live performance of the Concerto for harp and string orchestra at the Moscow Autumn Festival deserves special attention.
Irina Kainova’s works included in the album are presented by outstanding musicians, artists of leading Russian theaters and orchestras: harpists Nika Ryabchinenko, Ilona Nokelainen, Ekaterina Muslienko, flutist Svetlana Mitryaikina, violist Radik Khanafin, as well as the Moscow Chamber Orchestra “The Seasons” conducted by V. Bulakhov and the percussion ensemble conducted by A. Nikitin.
