Ray Records Presents Grigory Pertsov’s Debut Album “Chanson-Manson”

On September 11, singer, musician, and showman Grigory Pertsov released his debut album, Chanson-manson (Pesni pro lyudey) [Chanson-Manson (Songs About People)]. The album was launched under the Ray Records music label and is now available on all digital streaming platforms.

Grigory Pertsov has written over 100 songs, but only now has the artist decided to share his work with a wider audience. His debut album features 11 tracks, all of which – as the musician admits – are about the everyday people around us.

“How did Chanson-manson come to life? Back in my student days, my fascination with the chanson genre was more of a joke. My first serious step into it happened with the song ‘8 marta’ (March 8th). I wrote it easily and naturally, weaving in real-life stories and experiences,” says Grigory Pertsov. “The same thing happened with my second song, ‘Moy otets’ (My Father). But it was when I wrote ‘Gremite salyuty’ (Thunder, Fireworks) – which I stylized after a 1940s track – that the idea of creating a whole album about the lives of everyday people truly took shape. From there, the process took off: I wrote ‘Boksyory’ (Boxers) in just three minutes while waiting at a red light in my car, ‘Mama’ took me two minutes on the subway, and I penned ‘Okhotnichiya’ (Hunting Song) in half an hour during a walk with my daughter. Chanson-manson really is an album of songs about people – real, everyday people. I truly believe every listener will find something relatable and close to their heart in them.”

More original compositions by Grigory Pertsov are currently in the pipeline. His sophomore album is set to drop very soon – stay tuned!
