Essential Romantics: Peter Dmitriev Releases New Album Featuring Romantic Composers

Pianist Peter Dmitriev’s new album, Essential Romantics, was released on September 18 in collaboration with the music publishing company Ray Records.

Peter Dmitriev is an acclaimed pianist, prominent musical figure, and Honored Artist of Russia. Over the course of his career, he has garnered top awards at prestigious international piano competitions. His name is well-known far beyond Russia: the musician has performed in major concert halls of Europe and Asia, collaborating with leading orchestras and conductors. In recent years, Peter Dmitriev has focused heavily on studio work, putting out over 30 CDs, vinyl records, and digital releases.

Dmitriev’s new album features masterpieces by great Romantic composers: Robert Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Franz Liszt’s Étude No. 8, “Wilde Jagd,” from the cycle Transcendental Études, as well as several works by Frédéric Chopin, including Scherzo No. 3 in C-sharp minor, Op. 39, Grande valse brillante in E-flat major, Op. 18, and Grande valse brillante in A-flat major, Op. 34, No. 1.
