Oleg Molchan’s Song “Ya Lyublyu Tebya, Rodnaya” Performed by Vadim Kosenko
In celebration of Oleg Molchan’s anniversary year, Irina Vidova and Ray Records are proud to present new recordings of the Maestro’s timeless songs. Today marks a special premiere: the song “Ya lyublyu tebya, rodnaya” now features new lyrics penned by Irina Vidova, performed by Vadim Kosenko.
The early 2010s represented a particularly successful chapter in Oleg Molchan’s illustrious career. It all began with a solo concert where the Maestro reflected on his 25 years of creative work. Held at the Big Hall of the Palace of the Republic, the event was sold out, inspiring Molchan to compose new hits such as “Talisman,” “Pesnya moya,” “Liebe Love L’amour,” and “Avgust.” With the song “V posledniy raz”, Irina Vidova received the Audience Choice Award at the National Music Awards.
During this period, Oleg Molchan refined his skills in sound engineering, ensuring his songs resonated perfectly with his artistic vision.
The song “Ya lyublyu tebya, rodnaya” was written in 2011, with Oleg suggesting that his longtime friend Vadim Kosenko perform it. Their friendship and creative collaboration began back in the 1980s when Vadim prepared an Oleg song for a pop singer contest in Yurmala. In 1997, Oleg Molchan, then musical director of Pesniary, invited Vadim to join the ensemble. Over time, their partnership reached such a level of intuitive understanding that Vadim could grasp the essence of Oleg’s compositions with just half a word.
This year, Irina Vidova decided to breathe new life into the song by writing her own lyrics — deep, dramatic, and filled with hope. Perhaps this is a rare instance where the lyrics transformed the song, while the music remained unchanged. After recording the track in the studio, there was a moment of silence, followed by overwhelming admiration and congratulations on the undeniable creative success — everyone recognized that a new hit had been born.
“I know Oleg’s works better than anyone, even his mood when he composed each melody,” says Irina Vidova. “Now, this song tells a life story where nothing is more important than love — love is the very essence of life.” It is also a story of the love between Oleg Molchan and Irina Vidova. He often said that his greatest fortune in life was their meeting.
An interesting detail: the song is from a man’s perspective, yet the lyrics were written by a woman. Here’s how Irina Vidova explains it: “The song expresses the emotions of a truly loving man, willing to fight for his woman and his happiness. As I wrote the lyrics, I relived our life with Oleg as if for the first time, imagining what he would say…
“Vadim Kosenko’s performance of the song is nothing short of brilliant. It’s evident that the artist is currently at the height of his mastery. The song is captivating, echoing notes of bitterness and longing for the past, yet also hope for happiness. I am genuinely pleased when new songs by Oleg Molchan, with my lyrics, are released — this signifies that our creative collaboration continues, and his legacy lives on through his music.”
The track is now available on all digital platforms.
