On Oleg Molchan’s Day of Remembrance, a New Digital Album by the Maestro Was Released

A composer lives as long as people continue to listen to their music. This phrase has long become a well-known saying. Sometimes, in remembrance of an artist, it is invoked in connection with their anniversaries. But more often, a composer simply lives on through their music, delighting friends and fans alike.

Oleg Molchan left this world six years ago. Yet, his name and his music remain well known. How is this possible? Recently, the premiere of the song “Devochka-zima,” written in 2005 and long awaiting a performer, took place. Irina Vidova has written new lyrics for some of his songs. “Now, Oleg Molchan’s hits from the nineties — ‘Kruzhevo sireni,’ ‘Chuzhaya,’ ‘Miliy moi’ — have been rejuvenated and brought closer to contemporary audiences,” says the singer. “Having shared twenty-six years of life with Oleg, I knew exactly what he would have appreciated. Our tastes aligned perfectly. I want to keep Oleg Molchan’s legacy alive through his music, which is why I’m dedicated to future projects, collaborating with talented artists, such as Akim Tyshko, Andrey Usanov, Vadim Kosenko, and Pavel Sokolov.”

Today, Oleg Molchan’s songs are performed by a new generation of artists, each breathing new life into his timeless compositions. The album features the song “Krasavitsa vlyubitsya,” composed in 2013 and now performed solo by Akim Tyshko — an outstanding rendition. Irina Vidova also pleasantly surprised listeners with her unique interpretation of the Pesniary repertoire.

In honor of Oleg Molchan’s Day of Remembrance and his jubilee year, the music publishing company Ray Records has released a digital album with 12 tracks, although it contains only eight songs. Some compositions are performed by different artists; for example, “Gulyay, Kazak!” appears in solo versions by Irina Vidova and Akim Tyshko. This adds a special touch, allowing listeners to enjoy two versions of the same song. When it comes to “Malitva,” there are three different renditions, giving listeners the chance to choose the version that best fits their personal playlist.

The album is available on all major digital platforms, as well as on Oleg Molchan’s official website:
