Grigory Pertsov Releases New Album “Rock-Urok”

The premiere of the second album by singer, musician, and showman Grigory Pertsov, titled Rock-urok (Rock Lesson), took place on September 18. The album was released in collaboration with the Ray Records music label.

Grigory Pertsov has written over 100 songs, but only recently did the artist decide to share his work with a wider audience. Just a week prior, he released his debut album, Chanson-manson. His sophomore album, Rock-urok, is a compilation of rock tracks penned and recorded over the years.

“I’ve always felt a deep connection to Russian rock, and at one point, I wrote these songs in bursts. I’m thrilled that I finally managed to record my absolute favorites,” Grigory Pertsov shares.

The album’s title perfectly captures its essence – it served as a unique lesson for the author. At the beginning of his creative journey, he learned the craft of songwriting from his idols – an influence that can be felt in early tracks like “Liniyu svoyu vedu” (Holding My Line). However, his later material reveals a deeply personal and distinctive signature style, as heard in “Kak mne vybratsya?” (How Do I Get Out?).

According to the musician, Rock-urok is an ongoing project, and a follow-up installment is planned for the future. The upcoming edition will feature both the finest songs from his youth and his most recent rock compositions.
