The KO’n’GO project has existed since 1997. The name “KO’n’GO” is an abbreviation consisting of the initial letters of the last names of the band’s founders. They are two Poltava musicians — Alexander Kostoglod (Alex Kost was the leader-guitarist of Ugol Zreniya, a famous rock band of the 80s) and Vladimir Godz. The result of their joint creative work was the album Chudesno den proshyol, recorded in 1999. The album featured ten songs, including the popular hit “Gory zolotye.”

In 2004, the third member — poet and musician Sergei Golubev — joined the collective. In 2008, the renewed band recorded the album Svetlye melodii lyubvi. A special feature of this work was that the album’s songs were recorded in two languages at once: Russian and Ukrainian.
